The multiplication board is divided into rows and columns of 10 each. Each column is numbered 1 – 10. There is a slot on the left side of the board for insertion of number tiles (multiplicand).

The Animal Puzzles are used to teach the different parts of animals to preschoolers. Each unlabelled part is unmounted from the board and the puzzle is then arranged by children at this level.

Set of four blocks, each with a series of cylinder insets which vary in size, help to develop the child’s visual discrimination of size as cylinder sets vary in height and or diameter. The knobbed cylinders indirectly prepare them for writing, through the physical handling of the cylinders by their knobs.

There is a great sense of community within the Montessori classroom, where children of different ages work together in an atmosphere of cooperation rather than competitiveness.

Communicating with  children is very key, always talk to them properly in a clearly articulated voice. Call objects around them by their names to increase their vocabulary. Talking to them also involves modelling communication with other adults and listening. Be respectful when talking to them. Do not just communicate to them to tell them to do or not to do something, but have a regular conversation about how the day went.
